How to keep your nails healthy and beautiful

As a woman, I think modern women today are more likely to experience unhealthy nails or health conditions that harm them. Why? Modern women almost always have nail polishes, acrylics, gels or adhesives that hide the true condition of the nails and at the same time make them look very beautiful. In pursuit of beautiful nails, many women also ended up with serious infections and, in some cases, demanded the amputation of a finger, hand, toe, or foot.

So how can you make sure your nails stay healthy and beautiful? Here are some tips.

1. Cuticle removal

Most of the infections we have while doing manicures and pedicures are due to improper cuticle removal. The main purpose of the cuticle is to protect the nail bed from inflammation and infection. The correct way to remove cuticles is to first apply some cuticle lotion to soften the cuticles, and then soak your fingernails and toenails in warm water. Using a cuticle remover, gently push the cuticles back. Once this is done, the pushed back cuticle will rise above the nail bed. This is what we call excess cuticle. Use a nail clipper to cut off excess cuticle. Do not remove or pull cuticles to try to remove them, and do not allow the esthetician in the salon to forcefully remove the cuticles. If you do this, you leave the nail bed exposed and susceptible to infection and inflammation. After trimming excess cuticle, apply cuticle lotion or hand lotion to keep nails and cuticles soft and nails zürich.

2. Dietary needs

A diet rich in vitamin A, calcium, and phosphorus will help prevent your nails from being dry and brittle. Foods rich in vitamin A include apricots, carrot cheese, and broccoli. Foods rich in calcium include milk, yogurt, cheese, and almonds. Carrot juice is rich in calcium and phosphorous.

Hanging nails are small strips of skin that separate from the cuticles. To avoid eating food, eat foods rich in protein, folic acid, and vitamin C.
Spirulina and seaweed are very good dietary supplements that help keep your nails healthy and strong.

A diet rich in vitamin B 12, found in foods like eggs, fish, liver, beef, oysters, can prevent your nails from drying out, round nails, curved nails, and darkening of the nails.
In general, a diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables will result in very strong healthy nails, as these foods are rich in vitamins and minerals essential for nail growth and overall health.

3. Keep it natural

I know how much better nails look on gels, acrylics and adhesives; But what you may not know is how much they damage the nail plate. I'm not saying never put them on. All I'm saying is don't get used to it. Occasionally it's not that bad. The best way to keep your nails healthy is to keep them natural. Artificial nails contain chemicals and glue that could cause fungal nail infections. The methacrylic acid used during the application of acrylic is corrosive, so if it is used in excess it can seep through the nail plate and damage the nail bed.

Avoid polishing your nails completely. Leave them unpolished for at least a full week in a month to avoid discoloration.

Avoid nail polish removers that contain acetone or formaldehyde. It is best to use nail polish remover that contains acetate. While removing nail polish, use as little nail polish remover as possible and then wash your nails thoroughly with soap and water to remove all traces of the nail polish and nail polish remover.

4. Keep your nails clean and short

Long nails may have been in vogue in the 80s and early 90s, but that has changed and short nails are in vogue now. However, some women like long, polished nails. Long nails are difficult to keep clean as they hide a lot of dirt underneath them and are also prone to breakage. I am an African woman and I find it totally ridiculous for an African woman to have long nails because at one point in another we have to do some housework, no matter how subtle. Very long nails inhibit your ability to use your hand to the fullest when performing tasks; either home or otherwise. So keep your nails short and clean. It is elegant, professional and modern.
